A Few Things I’m Learning from Other Cultures

A person looking at a cityscape

I’ve never left India, so all I know about foreign countries comes from movies, YouTube, and basically the Internet.

Still...

Some things seem really impressive to me, so I’m trying to adapt them in my life.

  • Parents' property ≠ My property
  • Being independent in making choices without others’ influence (may be minimal)
  • Using expressive words in daily life to express emotions like “love you”, “proud of you”, "Miss you" ...
  • Treating public places as if they’re my own
  • Walking instead of using vehicles for short distances

This one I’d like to try someday, but maybe not now, until social change happens:
Calling higher authorities by their first name instead of “Sir/Madam”.

Comments are open—feel free to share your thoughts or if you see things differently. I’d also love to hear any takeaways you have.

Source: Bad Girl movie review (Gurubhai YouTube channel)
